Hello BFES Community,
As a campus we strive to maintain a safe and efficient environment for all students, staff, and stakeholders. We would like to bring your attention to the importance of adhering to the designated arrival and departure procedures. The community entrance and exit is located at the front of the building.
Arrival:
To enter the campus, please utilize the driveway identified as the entrance. Upon entering the campus you will drive through the winding path, and beyond the winding path the driveway splits into two lanes. To drop students off, you’ll remain in the right lane closest to the building, and drive up until you’ve reached a staff member who will open the car door to receive your child. If you’d like to park and enter the building you’ll utilize the left lane to select a parking spot. For the safety of our scholars and their families, please refrain from dropping students off in the parking lot unattended, speeding across the parking lot, or parking in an undesignated parking area. Please refrain from entering through the exit driveway to avoid a head on collision with outgoing traffic.
Departure:
To exit the school premises you’ll utilize the driveway designated for exiting. The exit driveway splits into a right and left turning lane onto Sorters Rd. At dismissal, you’ll enter the premises utilizing the entry driveway with your car rider tag displayed/visible in your window. You’ll be directed to then either pull into line 1 or line 2. Once dismissal has begun you will be directed by a staff member on when to pull up to have your child placed in your vehicle. Upon exiting the premises you will remain in one line until you reach the end of the driveway where the lanes split to turn right or left on Sorters Rd. If you need to park and enter the building you remain in the left lane (lane 2) closest to the parking lot until you’re able to exit the line and park in a parking spot.
Crosswalk:
When crossing the driveway to enter/depart from the building please utilize the Crosswalk. Teaching our students to use crosswalks helps them understand safe ways to navigate traffic. Crosswalks reduce the risk of accidents involving vehicles, as drivers are more likely to anticipate pedestrians at designated crossing point.
